Warren County United Way Announces Achievements and Volunteer Awards at Annual Meeting

Warren County United Way hosted more than 100 supporters of its Annual Meeting on March 19, 2008 at the Der Dutchman Restaurant in Waynesville, Ohio.  Key companies and volunteers were recognized for their efforts that helped the organization and its partner agencies achieve success in 2007.  The evening also included guest speakers Christine Earnhart, Warren County Adult News Readers, and Tina Osso, Shared Harvest Foodbank, Inc.

"I am extremely proud of our accomplishments and the growth of our outstanding organization.  I also want to express my pride and appreciation for the staff, volunteers and companies who have supported us during the past year," said Jamie Hamm, Board President, Warren County United Way.  Some of the organization's accomplishments included their second campaign loaned executive, Peggy Boltz of FACS Group, and the 2nd Annual Ride for United Way - Pumpkin Patch Express event held in late October.  The continued development of the General Joseph Warren Society is another area to celebrate and encourage.  The 2007 General Joseph Warren Society list is far larger than the previous year, but the list is far from complete.  We hope to continue to grow the list so that our community can celebrate the great generosity of our residents and be inspired by them.  Warren County United Way also participated in several partnerships and collaborations, one of which is the Support and Outreach Committee (SOC) of the Family and Children First Council.  In spring 2007, the committee unveiled a historic report to the community.  The report used measurable indicators that can be monitored over time to track changes and improvements in the well being of our community.  If you would like to view this report, please click on the link on the right side of the website.  If you would like to view a complete listing of the 2007 General Joseph Warren Society honor roll, please click here.

2007 Campaign Chairperson, Dawn Partin, announced the 2007 campaign pledge results.  Dawn Partin said, "A campaign that covers 400 square miles of Warren County and scores of companies can only happen as a result of the hard work of an army of volunteers.  You may recall that we set a goal of superhero proportions of $2,007,000 at our kickoff last September.  We are proud to announce that we did exceed our goal - in fact, we reached nearly 107% of our goal.  To be exact, the 2007 campaign reached $2,143,527."  Concluding the campaign portion of the evening was the introduction of the 2008 Campaign Chairpersons, Dawn Partin, Material Control Coordinator, Sumco Phoenix Corporation, and Christine Breitenbach, Sibcy Cline Realtors.

The annual meeting was also a time to recognize volunteers who had contributed their time and talents to the Warren County United Way throughout the year:

  • Campaign Volunteer of the Year - John Hugentober, Sumco Phoenix Corporation
  • Agency Volunteer of the Year - Victor Feinauer, Warren County Adult New Readers

Improving Lives in Warren County

Welcome to the Warren County United Way where we care about what matters in our community.  At United Way, we value our community and dedicate ourselves to impacting lives and getting results.

What matters is the lives we change and the communities we help.  For a family who has lost their home after a disaster, providing shelter matters.  For a mother who cannot afford childcare, low-cost after-school programs matter.  For a woman who has been abused, safe housing matters.

At Warren County United Way, what matters is a strong community, and we work hard to bring that to our community.  We invite you to join us as we strive to get results that will bring lasting changes on others' lives.  We invite you to make an investment in what matters.
