Message from the Committee Chairperson
State Representative Tom Raga
Approximately one year ago, in response to the 2000
Warren County United Way's Community Needs Assessment,
a group of very dedicated volunteers and community leaders
formed a coalition dedicated to the betterment of Warren
County. This collaboration, "Vision Warren County:
Strengthening Our Families", was initiated to tackle
the primary need identified by Warren County residents
. . . strengthening our families. Additionally, this
volunteer team challenged itself to address the needs
of all families, thereby developing a greater sense
of community spirit and pride for all of Warren County.
This alliance including the United Way and other non-profit
human services agencies, businesses, government, faith-based
organizations, and schools has proven how much our community
can accomplish when we work together.
A community-wide meeting in June 2001 initiated a strategic
planning process that produced a clear mission and vision
as well as measurable goals. This website is the end-result
of the first goal established by "Strengthening
Our Families". It represents the fruits of months
of labor on the part of many generous volunteers who
collected and consolidated information on family-oriented
programs and services in Warren County and developed
a comprehensive, easy-to-access directory of these services.
Descriptions of the variety of information offered can
be found below. Whether you have a specific need or
are simply looking for enrichment opportunities for
your family, the information provided by "Strengthening
Our Families" promises to make the future brighter
for your loved ones.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this truly
collaborative community project. Together we make Warren
County a better place to live for all families.
